BBC Congratulates Schipol and L3 with successful ClearScan trial at Amsterdam Schipol Airport
Schiphol Airport Amsterdam has successfully implemented L3's ClearScan in their security check-point operation.
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the main international airport of the Netherlands, located 9 kilometers southwest of Amsterdam. It is the fifth busiest airport in Europe in terms of passengers. Schiphol is the hub for KLM and its regional affiliate KLM Cityhopper as well as for Corendon Dutch Airlines, Martinair Cargo, Transavia and TUI Airlines Netherlands. Schiphol Airport is the first airport in Europe where L3 Communication Security & Detection Systems has installed the new state of the art x-ray machine ClearScan. The new technology allows laptops, tablets and liquids to stay in the carry-on baggage during inspection.
Schiphol Airport has finished a long test period with the ClearScan machine from L3 and the tests have been very successful.
